CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Women's tennis improved to 2-0 in the 2024 fall season with a 7-0 win over DeSales (0-1) on Saturday afternoon. The Lions have been dominate to start the season outscoring their opponents 13-1 through two matches.
All six single matches played this afternoon went in favor of the Lions. Albright won each singles match in straight sets.
Alex Pancu played a tightly contested first set winning it 7-5 then proceeded to assert her dominance in the second set winning it 6-1.
Michelle Timothy played a similar match as Pancu in number two singles earning a close first set win at 6-4. The junior Lion then turned around and won the match by way of a 6-1 second set win.
Elicia Aponte was featured in number three singles and turned in solid effort winning her match 6-3, 6-1.
Allison Horick and
Alaina Smith won both of their matches easily in number four and number five singles, respectively. Horick won by a scoreline of 6-1, 6-0 while Smith won 6-0, 6-1.
Saba Soroush rounded out the Lions single matches securing the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Pancu and Aponte teamed up for a win in number one doubles (6-3), Timothy and
Valeria Sanchez took number two doubles (6-2) while Horick and Smith took number three doubles 6-0.
