Women’s Tennis Cruises by Penn State Berks Winning 7-0

Women’s tennis is off to a 3-0 start in the fall season picking up another win this afternoon over visiting Penn State Berks.

READING, Pa. – The Albright women's tennis team (3-0) remains perfect on the season beating Penn State Berks on their home courts 7-0. Albright has outscored their opponents 20-1 in their three matches played this fall.

Albright's win over Penn State Berks in the fourth straight dating back to the 2021-22 season.

Alex Pancu won her 50th singles match of her career on Tuesday afternoon. All Pancu's 50 wins have come in number one singles play. Albright Hall of Famer Victoria Foanio is the program record holder in number one singles wins with 61.

All six singles matches were won in straight sets by the Lions.

Elicia Aponte, Alaina Smith and Saba Soroush all won by the same scoreline of 6-0, 6-0.

Kaelyn Davis won her first collegiate singles match this afternoon in number six singles play. Davis already had a doubles win under her belt on the day and added the singles win taking the match 6-2, 6-2.

Valeria Sanchez took care of business in number four singles winning easily 6-1, 6-1.

Aponte and Alison Horick won number one doubles 6-0, Smith and Michelle Timothy won number two doubles 6-1, and Davis and Soroush won in numbers three doubles 6-2.

Albright will return to action in a weeks' time next Tuesday, October 1. The match against Penn State Harrisburg is set for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
