READING, Pa. – Field Hockey (3-8, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) opened conference play against the #19 York College Spartans (6-5, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth). Following four periods of play, the visiting Spartans would leave with a 10-1 win over the Lions.
The Lions entered this game the winners of two straight and riding high off a dominant 5-0 win over King's college.
Mackenzie Bunn set a new career high with 13 saves and continues to pile on to what has been an impressive freshman season with her third double digit save performance.
The Lions looked to get on the board in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner where
Rayven Muller broke through in the 47
th minute of play for her second goal in three games.
Also turning up the offensive pressure were
Bobbie Van Oordt and
McKena Cox who each registered shots on goal as the Lions fought hard until the final whistle.
