Men’s Golf Wins Lancaster Bible Fall Invitational

Men’s Golf “A” team took to the course this afternoon for a single day 18-hole tournament. After the 18-holes were played Albright found themselves in first place shooting a 294.

LITITZ, Pa. – Men's golf won their fifth tournament of the fall season on Tuesday afternoon after shooting a 294 at the Lancaster Bible Fall Invitational. The round of 294 is the second lowest team score of the Lions fall season.

RESULTS

The Lancaster Bible College Fall Invitational was originally scheduled for 36-holes. Yesterday's round was forced into cancellation as the course became unplayable due to rain.

Six total Lions teed it up this afternoon. Today's round marked the last tournament the Lions will participate in in the 2025 fall season. Next for the Lions is the 21st rendition of the Yocum Cup against Alvernia.

13 total teams were in the field today making up 65 total golfers. Albright beat second place finishers Franklin & Marshall "C" team by two strokes and third place finishers Franklin & Marshall "B" team by four strokes.

Jonatan Liljeblad has been playing consistently strong golf of late. Today's round came in at 72 marking his second lowest round of the season. Liljeblad birdied his opening hole (hole #2) of the day on his way to five total birdies throughout. The junior played the par fives at two under par and the par threes at one under par.

In his first round since October 4, Nontaphat Veeratecha shot a 73 continuing right where he left off. Of the nine rounds played this fall season, seven of them have been in the 70's and one has been in the 60's. Veeratecha had 15 pars and 1 birdie today to place T7 overall.

Federico Cobos Kallman round of 74 today was good to place 11th overall. Eight of nine rounds for Cobos Kallman in the fall were in the 70's showing his consistent play over the two months. A one over front nine carried the sophomore to a strong round this afternoon.

Evan Twyman gave four Lions inside the top 15 after a round of 75. Three birdies were recorded over the 18-holes. Twyman took advantage of the par fives playing the three on the course at two under par.

Chris DiRita and Sam Elsen rounded out the day for the Lions. DiRita shot an 81 and Elsen finished one spot behind with an 82. Including today, the last four rounds have been strong for the tandem as each of their scoring averages are in the 70's.
 
Up Next:
Men's golf will begin preparation for the 21st Yocum Cup against Alvernia. The Ryder Cup style match will take place on Tuesday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29. Fourball matches will be played on Tuesday at LedgeRock Golf Club and Wednesday's singles matches will be played at Reading Country Club.
