DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Women's soccer (1-11-2) found a first half goal from
Daiveni Fisher to down Delaware Valley (3-9-1) 1-0 on the road. The goal came in the 21
st minute of play.
Women's soccer went on the road for their last non-conference game of the season. The win is the first over the Aggies since the 2018 season and the first of head coach
Shamus Matthews-Brady's tenure at Albright.
The Lions were awarded a free kick just over the midfield line on the Delaware Valley half of the field.
Abigail Landis stepped up to take the kick and procced to play a beautiful ball in the box.
Landis found a streaking Fisher inside the Aggie 18-yard box and flicked it past the keeper to put the Lions in front. The goal for Fisher is her first of the season and the assist is the first of Landis's career.
Albright kept the pressure up throughout the remainder of the game in search of a road victory. The offense combined with strong defensive play saw the Lions close out the game leaving with a 1-0 victory.
Albright held the advantage in shots (9-8) and in corners (2-1).
Haley Denuto and
Daleyney Herrera-Mingucha led with two shots each.
Paisley Tornatore earned her second clean sheet of the season, making five saves. Tornatore stifled all Delaware Valley goal scoring opportunities. The junior Lion has made 64 saves this season ranking among the MAC Commonwealth leaders.
