NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – Men's golf won the DeSales Fall Classic going away on Saturday afternoon seeing the second-place team (Scranton) finish 10 strokes behind Albright. Saturday's team score came in at 291 marking the best single day team score in program history.
RESULTS
The Lions were not going to be denied the team victory after entering today with a one stroke lead over Scranton and Kean. Throughout the afternoon Albright's lead grew separating themselves from the field on their way to a record setting two-day team score of 593.
Albright has played in five tournaments this fall and has won three of them. Weyhill Classic, Northampton Cup and DeSales Fall Classic trophies have all made their way back to Reading.
Sam Elsen was a man on a mission this afternoon shooting an under-par round of 71 for the first time this season. Elsen's day started with a birdie on the first hole foreshadowing of what was to come. The remaining 17 holes of the round were played at even par as Elsen carded only one bogey throughout. The strong second round catapulted Elsen up the leaderboard to finish T6.
Filip Hjerten shot his best round of his Albright career tallying a 73. The round was one stroke better than his previous season low which was set yesterday. Hjerten placed T6 after playing the first nine holes at one under par with bookend birdies on one and nine.
Nontaphat Veeratecha finished T10 with another strong showing. Of the eight rounds played this season for Veeratecha, seven of them have been in the 70's including today's score of 73.
Jason DiRita improved on his day one score by five strokes in round two with a 74 today. DiRita birdied two par's threes on his way to a top 20 finish.
Ashton McKechan finished better than half field over the course of the two days. McKechan tallied an 83 today helping the Lions to a historic day on the course.

The Lions B team will head to the Arcadia Invitational tomorrow afternoon at Golden Oaks Golf Club. The first of two rounds will begin tomorrow morning.
