READING, Pa. – Men's Basketball (4-7) opened day two of the Double Tree Holiday Tournament against Stockton (5-5) for their final out of conference game of the regular season. After a back and forth 40 minutes plus overtime, the Ospreys would take control in the final minutes of overtime for a 102-94 win over the Lions.
Qadir Mitchell led all players with 26 points including five threes in what was the senior's second game of the season with twenty or more points.
Tying Mitchell with a team best five three pointers was
Justin Turner who connected on five of seven shots for 15 points in as many minutes in what was a season high for the junior transfer.
The Lions set up each other for 24 assists to the Ospreys' 19 which played a big part in them entering halftime with a five-point lead (48-43).
Jeremiah Stanton dished out a game best eight assists.
Both teams traded blows in the second half and traded leads until the final seconds. Stanton would connect on a deep three pointer to tie the game 85-85 with a little over thirty seconds to play.
A last second shot from Stockton would send the game into overtime in an 87-87 tie. From there the Ospreys' offense would take over allowing them to outscore the Lions 15-7 for a overtime win on the road.
Phanique Dupree finished one rebound shy of a double-double and recorded a pair of blocks and steals. With this performance, the senior has surpassed 600 career points.
