ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Men's wrestling finished with 10 placers to finish third overall at Blue Jay classic hosted by Elizabethtown College. The 10 place winners and third overall team finish mark the best results of the season for the Lions at invitational competition.
Results
Albright finished with 139.5 team points to finish third overall. Albright finished behind Elizabethtown who finished first and Wilkes who finished second. The Lions were the only Middle Atlantic Conference team in the field this afternoon.
Trent Mahoney continues to roll right along, claiming his third individual crown of the season at 157 pounds. Mahoney is the seventh ranked wrestler in the country at 157 and will either stay ranked seventh or move up the rankings after going 4-0 today. Mahoney was no match for his opponents this afternoon having three pins across his four total bouts. In the 157 title bout, #7 Mahoney pinned the #19 wrestler in the country in first period to move to 18-0 this season.
Davis Keppley took first place at 174, earning his first win as an Albright Lion. Keppley went a perfect 5-0 this afternoon earning pins in his first and third bouts of the day. Keppley advanced to the finals with a 10-1 win to ultimately take home first place.
Gideon Fasanya took third at 197 going 2-1 on the day. Fasanya split his first two bouts having a tech fall win. In the third-place bout, Fasanya dominated his opponent, winning 15-3 to secure 10 team points for Albright.
Hezekiah Molina-Hagdu earned fourth at 125 pounds, going 2-2 on the afternoon. Molina-Hagdu won both of his bouts by way of pinning his opponents in the first period on each occasion.
Joseph Gassert won his last two bouts of the day to take fifth at HWT. Gassert rounded into form when it counted. To secure the fifth-place finish, Gassert won 4-1 over an opponent from Wilkes.
Bluny Davilma finished eighth at 165 earning four wins across the afternoon. Davilma started the day with a pin and followed that up with two decisions to earn a spot on the podium.
Caidyn Leaf took eighth at 174 going 2-2 on the afternoon. One of the wins came by a major decision and the other by a decision.
Beknazar Baiyshbekov placed third at 165 pounds after going 4-1 across the five total bouts today. Baiyshbekov won his first two bouts by pin and won his third straight by tech fall. After advancing to the third-place match, Baiyshbekov won by medical forfeit.
Calvin Myers took fifth at 157 making a run after dropping his first bout of the day. After falling in the first round, Myers turned it up a notch, winning his next five bouts to place. Myers had wins of major decisions, tech fall and a pin.
Danny Metzler went 5-1 on the day to place fifth at 141 pounds. Metzler has placed at all three invites this season for the Lions. Today, Metzler earned wins via every variety including two pins which both came in the first period.

Albright will be in action next weekend at the King's quad duals. The duals are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. from the campus of King's College.
