YORK, Pa. – Softball began MAC Commonwealth play on Saturday afternoon on the road at York College. The Spartans of York to both ends of today's double-header to improve to 4-8 on the year while Albright drops to 0-4.
Today marked the first two of 12 total Commonwealth games. All conference games are doubleheaders that take place each weekend until the end of the season.
GAME 1:
Aliza Langlois had her best game in an Albright uniform in game one going a perfect 4-4 at the plate. Langlois accounted for four of the teams five hits while finishing one hit shy of tying the program record.
The Lions took a 2-0 lead after three innings. In the first inning, Langlois came around to score on a passed ball. The Lions added their second run in the third inning on a fielders choice groundout via the bat of
Katie Behler.

York plated two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take the lead. The Spartans were able to shut the door on the Lions in the late stages of the game to secure the conference win.
Gabriella Weiss rounded out the hits for Albright in game one lacing a single to left field in the top of the sixth inning.
GAME 2:
York jumped on the Lions early in game two scoring eight runs across the first two innings. The Spartans then ended the game in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly.
Weiss added another hit in game two giving the first-year Lion a hit in both ends of the double-header. Weiss has a hit in three of the first four games to start the year.
Grace Landante added a double in game two giving her, her second extra base hit of the season.
Slaydon Fisher and Landante scored both of the Lions runs in the fourth inning.
Up Next:
Albright will play in their home opener on Tuesday, March 18 against Lycoming College. The games will start at 3 and 5.
