Baseball Concludes Season Series with Messiah

The Lions traveled for two of three straight on the road beginning with Messiah.

READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (8-9, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) concluded their first conference series against Messiah (11-7, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth). The Falcons would go on to take both games and win the season series. 

Game 1
 
John O'Connor opened the game for the Lions and struck out a pair of batters in three innings of work. 
 
Roman Berretta, and Deklyn Marks each found their way onto base via a hit. First Year John Pecoraro also picked up a hit after subbing in for his first career hit at the collegiate level.
 
The Falcons offense would unfortunately come to life and accumulate eight runs in the fourth inning as part of a 13-0 win.
 
Game 2
 
Game two saw the Lions offense come to life with six different players recording hits. All nine starters either reached base safely or recorded an RBI on the day. 
 
Plyler Hunter singled to center field in the second inning to bring home Nick Barton and give Albright a 1-0 lead. 
 
Jack Gilmer and Christian Eckstein would also drive in runs in the third and fifth inning respectively.
 
Patrick Ahearn and Josh Tudor would combine for only one earned run and three strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work to keep the Lions in the game.
 
After threatening in the ninth inning with a run scored, the Lions would ultimately fall short of the Falcons by a score of 7-4.
 
Up Next:
 
The Lions will play Franklin and Marshall on Tuesday (3/25) at 3:30 pm before returning home for six straight games.
