West Chester, Pa.  – The 2025 men's outdoor track and field schedule began on Saturday afternoon for the Lions as the team competed in the Purple and Gold Open on the campus of West Chester University.

As team the Lions earned 22 points on their way to a 10^th place finish in the Purple and Gold Open. Albright beat 11 other teams in the field including Division II teams such as Chestnut Hill.

Dante Zamichieli had a strong afternoon for the Lions earning 10 team points by winning the 3000m steeple chase. Zamichieli turned in an impressive time of 10:12.96 to take home first place by over a minute against the rest of the field.

Zamichieli is already the program record holder for the fastest time in the 3000m steeple chase. The senior Lion once again qualified for the MAC Championships later this spring in the same event.

Charles McClain fared well in the 110m hurdles, taking home 8^th in the event with a time of 18.65. In the 400m hurdles, McClain again finished on the podium taking 8^th 1:08.07 to earn his second team point of the afternoon.

The Lions placed two relay teams in the top 8 in the 4x400 and 4x100. Albright placed sixth in both events rounding out a solid day on the track.

Dominick Magalhaes earned the only three points the received in the field events in the javelin. Magalhaes throw of 40.13m was good for a sixth place finish beating out multiple Division II competitors.

Michael Maley was in action in long jump narrowly missing out on a top eight finish. Maley reached 5.57m, taking 12^th out of 23 participants.
