FREDERICK, Md. – Women's tennis (10-0, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) opened their MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday afternoon in a convincing 6-1 win over Hood (2-4, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) college.
Women's tennis enters the 2025 MAC Commonwealth season as the reining champions. The Lions' last loss in conference came nearly two years ago in March 2023.
Albright swept the doubles matches losing only one set out of a total 18 sets played.
Alex Pancu and Alison Horick won 6-0 in #1 doubles,
Michelle Timothy and
Elicia Aponte won 6-1 in #2 doubles and
Alaina Smith and
Saba Soroush won 6-0 in #3 doubles.
The singles matches were similar to the results of the doubles matches. Of the five single match wins, all five of them were completed in straight sets.
Timothy won 6-0, 6-0 in her #2 singles match continuing her dominant run of play. Soroush matched Timothy in #6 singles also winning her match 6-0, 6-0.
Horick got the job done in #3 singles winning 6-2, 6-1 while Aponte won 6-0, 6-3 in #4 doubles.
Smith rounded out the Lions singles wins winning 6-0, 6-1 in #5 singles.
