Women’s Lacrosse Comeback Bid Falls Short at Arcadia

The Lions played their second straight MAC Freedom team on the road on Wednesday afternoon. The team’s comeback bid fell short after shutting out the Knights in the fourth period.

GLENSIDE, Pa.  – Women's lacrosse (2-3) played their second straight road game against Arcadia (3-0) on Wednesday afternoon and their second straight game against a MAC Freedom opponent. The Knights were able to hang onto their lead in the end to win 12-8 at home.
 
Kayte Moist is closing in on 100 career goals, scoring four more this afternoon. With four more goals this season Moist will become the ninth player in school history to reach 100 career goals. 
 
Riley Basht scored twice marking her second multi-goal game of the season. Basht has recorded at least one goal in every game this season.

Albright looked to make a comeback through the late stages of the third period and the fourth period. Arcadia did not score for the last 19:40 of game time clinging to a lead.
 
The Lions were accurate with their shooting all night taking 17 total shots with 16 of them being on frame. In the end Arcadia's goalie turned away the would-be scorers, making eight saves on the night.
 
Bridgette Asher scored for the second straight game placing all four of her shot attempts on frame. Sarah Chernis scored once to improve her season point total to 16.
 
Kaila Clark, Katelyn Kelly and Tori Drennan all caused turnovers holding down the defense. The trio all finished with one ground ball each.

Women's Lacrosse will have the next 10 days off before returning to play on March 15 at home against Wilson College. The game will start at 12:00 p.m.
