READING, Pa. – Men's tennis (1-0) began their 2025 season with a 7-0 win over Penn State Berks (0-1) on Wednesday afternoon. Albright won the match 7-0 with a lineup featuring new faces.
Albright is coming off back-to-back Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth playoff appearances. The Lions figure to be in the mix again when the championship season begins in the spring of 2026.
Leonardo Russo Gispert and
Matias Contreras made their Albright debuts in number one doubles and cruised to a 6-2 win.
Dylan Huha and
Enrico Pucci were featured in number two doubles and won easily 6-0 to give the Lions the doubles team point.
Gaving Buckley and
Charles Coleman rounded out the Lions doubles effort winning number three doubles 6-4.
Contreras returned to the court to play number one singles and won 6-4, 6-0 to move to 2-0 on the day. Pucci won his number two singles match 7-5, 6-1 to also move to 2-0 on the day.
Huha won his number three singles match 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 while Russo Gispert won number four singles 6-0, 6-0.
Esteban Vallejo and
Nikolai Damman played in number five and six singles for the Lions. Vallejo in number five singles 6-1, 6-1 while Damman won 6-1, 6-2.

The Lions will return to action on Friday (Sept. 12) to participate in the two-day Ursinus Invitational. The Invitational will begin at 9 a.m.
