th minute and 69
th minute of play to down the Immaculata Mighty Macs (1-5) 2-0 on the road. The win is the first for the Lions over the Mighty Macs since the 2018 season.
The first half featured zeroes on the scoreboard as the two sides traded multiple good looks but were unable to put the ball into the back of the net. The teams combined for 15 shots in the first half in a high pace game.
Albright was in control for the majority of the second half making the Immaculata defense work throughout. In the 66
th minute of play the Lions struck first to open the games scoring.
After
Bryce Peters earned a foul in the Mighty Macs defensive third, the combination of
Martin Ramsay and
Thayne Kahl did the rest to give the Lions a 1-0 lead.
Ramsay played the ball into a dangerous position in the Mighty Macs 18-yard box. Immaculata's defender was trying to clear the ball over the crossbar and was unable resulting in an own goal for the Mighty Macs. Kahl did a great job to force the miscue from Immaculata.
A mere three minutes later, Albright would add to their lead courtesy of Ramsay. A beautiful pass from Peters found a streaking Ramsay down the left side of the field taking on and beating the Mighty Mac goalkeeper to the near post to give the Lions insurance going up 2-0. Ramsay has recorded a goal in two of the five games to start the year and is sitting on 46 career points.
In the 76
th minute of play the game was suspended and ultimately called due to lightning in the area.
Mike Lawry earned the start in net and made three saves. Kahl was dominant from his outside back position stifling Immaculata goal scoring opportunities.
Ramsay fired a team high three shots and was followed by
Will Garnett,
Gael Velazquez and
Brady Devito who each recorded two of their own.
