Men’s Golf Wins Northampton Cup Over 15-Team Field

The men’s golf team once again found themselves at the top of the team leaderboard on Tuesday afternoon shooting a 298 as a team to beat Moravian by one stroke.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Men's golf has won back-to-back tournaments after another strong performance this afternoon in the Northampton Cup. The Lions "A" team recorded a team score of 298 to beat the Moravian Greyhounds by one stroke. Albright "B" team shot a 309 to finish fifth overall in the tournament.

RESULTS

Albright won back-to-back tournaments today after winning the Moravian Weyhill Classic a week ago.

Based off last year's rankings (2024-25) the Lions were the second highest rated team in the field, trailing only Swarthmore by five spots. The 2025-26 national rankings are not released until October.

Fredrik Alhanko led the charge for the Lions team this afternoon recording his first collegiate round at par or better. Alhanko's round of 72 placed him in a T5 position, also marking the first time the first-year Lion earned a top five finish.top 10 finish. Twyman was even par on his front nine. Last time out, Twyman shot a 78 and improved by five strokes this afternoon with a 73.

Nontaphat Veereatecha matched Twyman with a round of 73, earning his third straight top 10 finish. Veeratecha has been exceptional this season having played three of his four rounds in the 70s.

Federico Cobos Kallman fired his fourth straight round in the 70s this afternoon. Cobos Kallman earned a 74 playing the back nine at one under par.

Charles Baliey placed one spot behind Cobos Kallman finishing T13. Bailey shot a 75 which included an Eagle on the par five seventh hole.

Ashton McKechan shot a 76 in another strong round for the first-year player. McKechan tallied five total birdies throughout his round including birdies on at least one par three, four and five. The score is just one stroke off his season best round of 75 achieved earlier this season.

Jonatan Liljeblad was the second Lion to record a round of 76 on the afternoon. Liljeblad's round included two birdies to place him in T15 after the tournament was final.

Sam Elsen, Filip Hjerten, Jason DiRita and Oliver Liljeblad all recorded rounds in the 80s this afternoon. Elsen had an 81, Hjerten an 83, DiRita an 85 and Liljeblad with an 86.

Connor Fields and Ethan Beidler finished next to each other on the leaderboard shooting an 89 and 90, respectively. The round for Beidler marked the first tournament round of the fall season.

Up Next:
Albright will begin the two-day Northeast Elite Tournament on Sunday (Sept. 28). The two rounds will be played at Williamsport Country Club.
