Men’s Soccer Ties with Lancaster Bible at Home

32 total shots were fired in what turned out to be a back-and-forth physical showdown.

READING, Pa. – Men's Soccer (4-1-2) played the first of a three game homestand against the Chargers of Lancaster Bible (3-3-2). Both teams found the back of the net twice in what turned out to be a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

After a slow offensive start from both teams, Myles Mitchell drew first blood and found the back of the net off an assist from Jaylen Bains in the 27th minute of play.

After the chargers responded with a goal of their own, Bains then added a unassisted goal of his own in the 32nd minute which would lead to a 2-1 Lions lead at the half.

Martin Ramsay was also a contributor for a strong offensive performance from the Lions and tied Jose Serrano with a team high four shots in a game where four different Lions picked up three or more shots.

The Chargers would score the game's final goal in the 53rd minute to tie things up 2-2.

Despite the Lions being down a player for majority of the second half, the defense held strong to keep the Chargers' offense off the board for the remainder of the game.

Will Garnett and Thayne Kahl each contributed to a number of breakups that stalled Lancaster Bible's offense.
