GALLOWAY, N.J. – Field hockey (1-7) went on the road on Saturday morning for the first time in 10 days facing off against the Stockton Ospreys (5-5). The Ospreys protected home field winning the game 5-0.
Today's game was the first of two straight against New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) member institutions. The Lions will travel to The College of New Jersey next week.
Stockton opened the game with a goal in the first period proving to be the only goal the team would need to win in the end.
The Lions looked to get on the board in the second period having a total of three shots.
Bobbie Van Oordt had two of the three shots placing one on goal and the other being blocked denying a good goal scoring opportunity for the Lions.
Charissa Yerger tallied the other shot in the game for Albright that sailed just wide of the cage.
Mackenzie Bunn started in goal for the Lions and made 12 saves. For Bunn it marks her second game this season having 10 or more saves in game. The 12 saves is good for a new career high in a game for the first year Lion.
