Women's Golf Competes at Shriver's Saltwater Shootout; Catania Takes Home Gold

EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. — Women's golf took a trip down to the Jersey Shore to compete in the Shriver's Saltwater Shootout on a misty Sunday afternoon. The Lions competed against host Stockton and Arcadia at Blue Heron Pines, with Ilaria Catania bringing home an individual tournament win.

RESULTS

The ladies competed in less than ideal conditions that featured constant mist-like precipitation and soaked greens, but their pride of being a Lion prevailed, competing with smiles on their faces.

Catania carded an 84 (+12) on the day, featuring one birdie and six pars. Catania's play earned her the honor of bringing home an individual tournament win, her first of the season. Catania led the tournament in dominant fashion — she was nine strokes ahead of the second place finisher.

Maya Garee had her third appearance as a Lion. Garee came home with a final score of 115 (+43).

Anna Waack had her second appearance this fall season, carding a 123 (+51). Waack has improved her game by shaving 12 strokes off of her final score since her last appearance, which was at The Northampton Cup on Sept. 1.
