EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – STUNT officially took to the mat for the first time in program history. In their first ever competition, the Lions beat Saint Elizabeth 8-1 marking the first ever win in program history.
STUNT was announced as a sport at Albright on September 18, 2024. After a year and half of recruiting and getting her program in order, head coach
Jamie Payne led the Lions to a victory over an established program in Saint Elizabeth.
Due to the impending inclement weather forcing schedule changes, the Lions played two full games and two half games throughout the day on Saturday.
Albright played Centenary (Louisiana), Malone and Randolph in the program's debut.
The Lions compete in the Northeast STUNT conference along with Saint Elizabeth, Randolph, Misericordia and Gallaudet.
In January of this year the sport STUNT moved to NCAA Championship status. The first NCAA Championship competition for the sport will be held in 2027.
