READING, Pa. – Men's tennis (5-3) hosted Methodist (6-2) on Wednesday afternoon on a beautiful day in Reading. The Monarchs took the match 5-0.
The Lions returned home for the first time since February 28. Today's match marked the second straight for Albright against a team located outside of the Keystone State.
With Methodist having enough points to win, the match was not fully completed due to darkness. Two of the six singles matches went unfinished.
Marcelo Menchaca and
Esteban Vallejo battled all match long to win in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-3) playing in #3 doubles. The duo improves to 3-2 this season with the win.
Menchaca was one of two Lions to have their singles match go unfinished. Menchaca dropped the first set but was in control of the second set looking poised to send the match the distance.
Leonardo Russo Gispert match was also on its way to going three sets before darkness determined the match would be uncompleted.
