OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Women's tennis (8-3, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) began Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play on Saturday afternoon squaring off against the Stevenson Mustangs (2-4, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth). Albright took care of business and left Maryland with a 7-0 victory.
With today's victory Albright has now won their last 14 conference matches in a row. The last loss suffered by the Lions in conference play came all the way back in the spring of 2023.
Albright is looking to defend their MAC Commonwealth title having won the championship in the 2024 and 2025 season.
All six singles matches went to Albright in straight sets. No Stevenson player was able to take more than three games in any set against Albright.
Nadia Margaritov won 6-0, 6-0 at #1 singles marking her fourth straight match win. Of the last four match wins for Margaritov all of them have come in straight sets.
Michelle Timothy was no match for her opponent not dropping a single game winning 6-0, 6-0. Timothy has won her last five matches overall with four of the five wins coming in straight sets.
Elicia Aponte (#3 singles) also won her four straight match today winning 6-0, 6-3.
Allison Horick matched Timothy in winning in dominant fashion taking her match 6-0, 6-0. At #4 singles Horick is 6-3 this season.
Alaina Smith played in #5 singles match and won easily 6-3, 6-0 marking her fourth straight match win. At #6 singles
Daniela Diez won 6-2, 6-3. Diez is undefeated this season holding a 6-0 mark to date.
In doubles play the Lions outscored the Mustangs 18-3. Aponte and Timothy won 6-1 at #1 doubles, Horick and Smith won 6-2 in #2 doubles and Diez and Margaritov won handily 6-0.
