DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Baseball (15-20-1) traveled to face Delaware Valley (14-22) for their second straight road game on Wednesday afternoon. Following nine innings of play, the Lions would hold on for a 7-6 victory over the Aggies.
The Lions struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning before also plating a ruin in the second, third and fourth innings.
Tommy Lewman and
Anthony Knight kicked off the Albright scoring with a sacrifice fly and RBI single. Lewman would also steal home as part of a double steal in the third inning leading to a 4-0 Lions lead after three innings.
After Delaware Valley struck back in the third,
Michael Avino sent a ball down the left field line to bring home
Christian Eckstein. Eckstein was on base a team best four times which included three hits.
The Aggies would cut the lead to one (5-4) after five innings before Knight came through again with his second RBI of the day in which Avino scored.
As a team the Lions combined for 18 total base runners with 11 hits and seven walks. Lewman found himself on base three times which included a pair of walks.
A
Seth Strecker Single would give the Lions their final run of the day which was then enough for the team to pick up their fourth road win of the season.
J.D. Graziano recorded his first win of the season while
Nicolas Natalie picked up his first save of the season.
