READING, Pa. – Women's lacrosse (8-8, 2-4 MAC Commonwealth) won in convincing fashion over the visiting Eastern Eagles (4-10, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) 21-5 on Wednesday evening.
Riley Basht recorded her 100
th career point while
Zoe Dicks set the new single season assist record.
The Lions had a game to remember seeing two Lions enter the record books throughout the evening.
In the waning seconds of the first quarter Basht became the 12
th player in program history to reach the 100 career point milestone. Basht's 100
th career point came off her 49
th goal of the season. Basht finished the game with five goals and an assist for six total points.
Dicks entered the record books setting the new single season record for assists in a season. The senior set the record in the fourth quarter feeding
Olivia Ball who scored to give Dicks her 44
th assist of the season.
The single season record is the second program record set by Dicks this season. Earlier in the year Dicks recorded 13 points in a single game against Mount Saint Vincent to set the new single game record for points in a game.
Albright scored 21 goals tonight, marking the third time this season they have scored 20 or more goals in a game.
Four different Lions scored four or more goals.
Paige Lipp,
Madison Wood, Basht and Dicks all recorded hattricks. Dicks finished with a game high nine points and was followed by Lipp who set a new career high in points with seven.
Wood ended the game with four points, three ground balls and three draw controls.
Olivia Ball found the back of the net twice while also dishing out two assists for four points.
Samantha Lipp set new career highs in ground balls (7) and caused turnovers (4) and scored for good measure.
The defense was active all night long causing 16 total turnovers.
Kaila Clark recorded three caused turnovers and seven ground balls while Dicks and P. Lipp each had two caused turnovers.
Kylee McCauley-Kriegsman made three saves on her way to her 8
th win of the season.
As a team Albright fired 61 total shots placing well over half of them on goal with 40. The Lions were also outstanding taking care of the ball only having six total team turnovers.
