Men’s Tennis Blanks Alvernia 7-0

The Lions picked up their second straight win to begin conference play with a 7-0 victory over Alvernia on the road.

READING, Pa. – Men's Tennis (9-4, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) won their second straight match in conference play over Alvernia (1-6, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) on the road. The Lions have now beaten the Golden Wolves for the third consecutive season.

Albright has won their first two Commonwealth matches for the first time in at least the last 16 years. Dating back to last season, Albright has won each of their last four Commonwealth matches consecutively.

The Lions only dropped six total games across the six singles matches played. No match went to a third set as Albright was able to win in straight sets in all six singles matches.

Renato Orsi (#1 singles) got the job done winning 6-2, 6-0. Karim Fattal won in #2 singles 6-1, 6-0.

Marcelo Menchaca took the #3 singles match, winning 6-1, 6-0. In #4 singles, Enrico Pucci 6-2, 6-0 scoreline was the difference.

#5 and #6 singles matches were both won by Albright without dropping a game. Dylan Huha won 6-0, 6-0 and Esteban Vallejo also won 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles play was more of the same for the Lions as they outscored the Golden Wolves 18-4.

Orsi and Pucci won 6-3 in #1 doubles, Menchaca and Vallejo won 6-1 in #2 doubles while Gavin Buckley and Huha put a stamp on the doubles matches winning 6-0 playing in #3 doubles.
