BALTIMORE, Md. – Women's tennis made their third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday evening playing against #15 Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in the first round. CWRU advanced with a 4-0 win over Albright.
The 2025-2026 season was another one for the record book for women's tennis. The team won their third straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth championship resulting in their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Albright finished the season with a 14-5 record marking the third straight season the Lions have won at least 14 matches in a season. Over the past three seasons Albright has been even more dominant in the MAC Commonwealth sporting a record of 17-1 in the regular season and a perfect 6-0 record in MAC playoffs.
Individually, Albright placed five on the All-Conference list.
Nadia Margaritov and
Michelle Timothy were named to the First Team while
Elicia Aponte,
Alaina Smith and
Allison Horick were named to the Second Team.
Since the 2023-2024 season Albright has placed 16 total student-athletes on the All-Conference teams marking the most of any MAC Commonwealth team in that stretch.
CWRU won the team doubles point by winning the #1 and #2 doubles matches. The Spartans carried their momentum in the singles matches winning #1, #4 and #5 singles. CWRU will face Carnegie Mellon in the second round.
