READING, Pa. – Women's Soccer (3-2) took the field and hosted Kean (2-3) to kick off their first set of back-to-back games at Shirk Stadium this season. Through 90 minutes of play, the Lions earned their second shutout of the season in the form of a 2-0 victory.
The Lions set the tone early courtesy of
Gabby Verdone's second goal of the season coming in just the eighth minute of play. Verdone finished the day with two shots in what continues to be a strong first collegiate season.
Joining Verdone with multiple shots was
Daiveni Fisher who tallied a team high of five and created no shortage of scoring chances for herself or her teammates.
Albright's second goal also came in the first half from
Megan Chikezie off the bench allowing the Lions to enter the locker room holding all momentum.
An outstanding defensive effort kept Kean scoreless which included
Clare Caldaro,
Abigail Landis and
Bree Hancock all stepping up to deny additional scoring chances.
Eight saves were made in net by
Olivia Reinhart who continues to maintain a save percentage exceeding 80% and a goals against average of 1.00.
