READING, Pa. – Women's Soccer (4-2) hosted their Morgan's Message Dedication Game against the Delaware Valley Aggies (2-2). Through 90 minutes of physical play, the Lions would maintain momentum on both sides of the ball for a 1-0 victory.
Both teams would remain scoreless in the opening half despite no shortage of scoring chances for either side.
Daiveni Fisher and
Jaylin Sheffield led the way for the Lions and tied for the team lead in shots with four apiece.
As a team the Lions found themselves in control throughout the vast majority of the game and outshot the Aggies 19-9.
Anna Hogue-Pellerin broke through in the start of the 61
st minute off a fantastic pass from Fisher off a corner kick for her third goal of the season. The assist was the first for Fisher this season.
Hannah Kunkle started in goal for her second appearance and first start of the season and did not disappoint. Kunkle made five saves along with a number of clutch grabs to breakup additional opportunities for Delaware Valley.
The strong two-way play from the Lions allowed them to secure their third win in their last for games in front of an excited crowd.
