ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Field Hockey (1-4) traveled to Cedar Crest (2-2) as they move towards the end of their lengthy road trip. The Falcons would wind up with a narrow 3-2 victory over the Lions.
Despite the score, the Lions outshot the Falcons 22-10 which included six shots from
Aniek Oostendorp. Oostendorp scored both goals for the Lions in what was the first multi-goal performance of her career.
Joining Oostendorp in leading the Lions' attack was
Bobbie Van Oordt who registered a team best seven shots of her own. The seven shots were also a season high for the reigning MAC Commonwealth Rookie of The Year.
Also involved with multiple shots were
McKena Cox and
Charissa Yerger who combined for six throughout the day.
After two of Cedar Crest's goals came in the opening quarter, the Lions held off their high-powered offense until the 49
thminute keeping themselves in the game until the final whistle.
Despite a fantastic offensive day for the Lions, the Falcons would hold on at home for their second win of the season.
