Coach Co is set to begin her fourth year in charge of the Albright field hockey program during the 2025 season. Co saw Olivia Lorah and Chelsea Johnson be named to the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference teams. In each of Co's first three seasons at Albright has seen her place at least one student-athlete on an All-Conference team.Â
Catherine Wiese (Ostoich) enters her third season at the helm of the Lions field hockey team. Last season, the Lions narrowly missed on back to back MAC Commonwealth playoff appearances after losing out on tiebreakers within the Commonwealth division. Coach Co will return a majority of the starting lineup in 2024 figuring to continue her success on the sidelines for Albright since her arrival on campus. Â
Coach Co brought instant success to the Lions field hockey program winning their first playoff game in over 50 years a season ago. In the playoffs, Albright beat Widener 1-0 to secure one of the biggest victories in program history. In addition, Coach Co led two student-athletes to MAC conference honors in the forms of Chelsea Johnson (first team) and Olivia Lorah (honorable mention).Â
She joins the Lions after previously being the head coach at Central Michigan University for four seasons.
Â
Prior to Central Michigan, Coach Co served as the head coach at Missouri State University, as well as an assistant coach at Indiana University and Davidson College.
Â
While at Central Michigan, Wiese led the Chippewas to their most wins since 2014 in an abbreviated 2021 spring season. In the fall 2021 season she led the team to their first win over a top 25 team since 2014 with a win over 23rd ranked Kent State. In addition to the on-field success, she also coached 42 Academic All MAC team members.
Â
Originally from West Chester, PA, Coach Co was a four-year started at the University of Richmond, including her senior season when she was a co-captain. She was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team in 2009 and 2011. Prior to Richmond, she was a two-year starter at Villa Maria Academy, where she was named an honorable mention All-State team member as a senior, and helped lead her team to a state semifinal appearance.
