With over 40 years of experience coaching college and high school football, Dennis Iezzi enters his second season on the Albright coaching staff. He will work with the Lion cornerbacks in 2016 after coaching the defensive ends in 2015.
In his first season on the Albright sideline, Iezzi helped coach the Lions to a Middle Atlantic Conference title. Albright posted a 10-2 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Jamal Hayden earned Second Team All-MAC honors from his defensive end position in 2015.
Iezzi returns to Reading after serving as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2013 and 2014.
Iezzi, who graduated from Albright in 1972, also served as an assistant coach at Kutztown from 2007-13. He was the secondary coach from 2007-09, the assistant head coach in 2010 and the defensive coordinator from 2010-13. During his time as the defensive coordinator, Kutztown amassed an overall record of 28-8 and won a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title in 2011.
Iezzi coached at the high school level at Donegal, Bermudian Springs, Middletown Area and Exeter Township.
He was a combined 150-83 during his high school coaching career and during his time at Middletown his teams won five league championships and he was named the Coach of the Year on five occasions.
Iezzi earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from Albright in 1972 and his master's of education from Millersville in 1976.
