Matt Zamperini enters his third season on the Albright coaching staff in 2018 following a career of over 20 years coaching high school football.

Zamperini continued as the defensive line coach in 2017 as the Lions registered an 8-3 overall record with a berth in the MAC-Centennial Bowl Series for the second straight year. He helped develop Isaiah Baylor to earn All-MAC first team honors and D3football.com All-East Region honors after he led all of Division III in forced fumbles. 
 
Zamperini was part of a coaching staff that helped lead Albright to a MAC-Centennial Bowl Championship title in 2016 as the Lions posted an 8-3 overall record.

Zamperini, who will coach the Albright defensive line, coached previously at Erie Cathedral Prep, Pequea Valley High School and Garden Spot High School.

Zamperini has been the head coach at Garden Spot High School for the last 10 years. During that span, the Spartans made seven District 3 playoff appearances and were District 3 semifinalists in 2008 and he was named the Section 3 and Lancaster/Lebanon League Coach of the Year in 2012.

Zamperini also has served as the defensive coordinator and defensive coordinator during his high school coaching career.

In addition to being the head football coach at Garden Spot, Zamperini also served as the assistant and head wrestling coach.

Zamperini was a three-year starter at Gannon University on the defensive line and was a co-captain during his senior season.

Zamperini earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Gannon and a master's in sports management and instructional leadership from Millersville and Alvernia.

He and his wife Laura reside in the Adamstown area.
