Phill Guard enters his second season as an assistant coach on the Albright staff.
Guard will work with the Lion running backs for the second consecutive season.
Guard spent four seasons, three as a player and one as a student assistant coach, for NCAA Division III powerhouse Mount Union.
During his four combined seasons, Mount Union compiled a 57-3 overall record and played for the national championship in each of his seasons. As a player, he was a member of the 2012 Purple Raider team that went 15-0 and captured the DIII national championship.
As a student assistant coach in 2014, Guard helped guide the most prolific offense in DIII history. Mount Union posted a 14-1 overall record and scored an NCAA record 878 points during the season and averaged 58.5 points per contest.
During his tenure, Guard helped lead the Purple Raiders to four consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference titles.
Guard also was a member of a state championship team at Geneva High School in New York.
Guard earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Mount Union in 2015.
