Sal Ruffino joined the Albright College football staff in the spring of 2012, and serves as Defensive Line Coach.
The Lions featured three defensive lineman on the All-MAC team in 2012, along with one D3football.com national Team of the Week nod.
Ruffino graduated in December 2011 from Boston's Bentley University, where he was a four-year starter for the Division II Falcons. He helped lead Bentley to a share of the 2009 Northeast-10 championship.
As a senior, Ruffino totaled 51 tackles, including team-highs for sacks (6.5) and tackles for a loss (13). For his career, he had 11.5 sacks and 22 tackles for a loss.
He was named to the National Football Foundation's 2012 Hampshire Honor Society, a recognition given to senior student-athletes who play a significant role on the field while maintaining a cumulative GPA of over 3.20.
While not at school, Ruffino also assisted for the last four years with the Allentown Central Catholic High School team, working with defensive linemen, linebackers, receivers and tight ends. The school won three district championships and one state title in that time.
Ruffino has also coached at a number of camps, including the Philadelphia Eagles youth camp and the New England Elite Football clinic.
A two-time All-Lehigh Valley Conference selection at Allentown Central Catholic, Ruffino is a native of Allentown, Pa.
