Coach Skelly began his first season at Albright in 2023 and made an immediate impact on the team. In the 2024 season, Coach Skelly led the Lions to six wins, their most in a season since 2017. Skelly saw three of his players being named to MAC Commonwealth all conference teams in the forms of Jon Alvarez, Jack Burke and Luke Williams. 

By the teams sixth game of the year, three different program records were broken under the guidance of coach Skelly. Coach Skelly led his faceoff specialist to the most faceoffs won in a singe game as well as the most points and most goals in a single contest. After establishing the culture after year one, coach Skelly has his team poised to be a formidable force in the MAC Commonwealth and beyond in the 2024 season. 

Erich Skelly was appointed to led the Albright men's lacrosse program upon the announcing of his hiring on September, 1, 2022. Skelly comes to Albright bringing with him over 10 years worth of experience of college lacrosse coaching experience.

Skelly served as the Assistant Coach at Division I Sacred Heart University for the previous six years. Prior to Sacred Heart, Skelly served as an assistant coach at Binghamton University, and the College of Brockport. While at Sacred Heart, Skelly served as the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. During his time there, he coached multiple players who went on to play lacrosse professionally. Additionally, twice during his tenure the team won nine games, the most the school has won in the past 20 years.
 
"I want to thank Rick Ferry, Janice Luck, and everyone involved with the hiring committee for this opportunity.  I am beyond excited to lead the Albright Men's Lacrosse program and develop this group of young men both on and off the field.  I need to take a moment to thank my family, friends and mentors who all helped me get to where I am today.  Without their love and support I would have never made it this far in my coaching career.  It has been a dream of mine to be a collegiate head men's lacrosse coach and now that dream has become a reality" said Skelly.
 
Originally from Grand Island, NY, Skelly played lacrosse at Brockport, being named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic List and the SUNYAC All-Academic team three times each.
