Albright College Athletics

Abigail Gaffney enters her second season as Women's Basketball Assistant Coach during the 2023-24 season. She is a 2022 graduate of Albright College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and PR and Advertising.

Gaffney is a key member of the coaching staff helping lead the Lions to their first home playoff game since the 2017-18 season during the 2022-23 campaign. After playing alongside standout Gabby Boggs, Gaffney was instrumental in helping Boggs reach and surpass multiple program records as well assisting Boggs finishing as the schools 3rd all time leading scorer. 

A four-year member of the women’s basketball team, Gaffney finished her career ranked fifth all time in assists per game and 10th all time in total career assists for the Lions. She also finished second in the conference in assists and assists/turnover ratio. In addition, Gaffney helped lead the team to the MAC Championship game in 2020 and an NCAA tournament appearance. She was a three time MAC Academic Honor Roll Selection and a two time MAC Sportsmanship team selection.

Gaffney was also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and worked as a Sports Information Intern during her time at Albright.

Graduated from Berks Catholic High School in Reading, Pa. Member of varsity basketball and volleyball team all four years. Earned team MVP of basketball as well as an All-Berks selection in her senior season. A recipient of the Jean Frey Outstanding Senior Player Award
