On Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 12) the Albright women’s basketball program named Sanaa Redmond as assistant coach. Redmond will join the Lions for her first season as an assistant coach in 2025-2026.

Redmond joins the Lions after a four-year playing career at the Division I level. Redmond played for Samford for two seasons and Rider for the past two seasons.

At Samford, Redmond started 38 games while appearing in 53 total. With the Bulldogs Redmond scored a career high 15 points against Talladega and UNC Greensboro. While at Rider, Edmond started 41 games while appearing in 53 total. Current Albright head coach Alyssa Parsons coached Redmond for one season at Rider. For her playing career she made 79 career starts.

During her high school playing days Redmond was a four-year letterwinner at The Shipley School in Philadelphia averaging 15.7 points per game, as well as 2.0 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. The accolades piled up for Redmond being named 2A Third Team All-State, Team MVP, First Team All-Friends League, Team Captain and All-Mainline.

Off the court Redmond is the founder and owner of 19151 Basketball. The company specializes in basketball training focusing on individual skill development and group sessions. Additionally, 19151 designs and implements customized training programs to enhance athletes’ shooting, ball-handling, and game IQ.
