Brittaney Costigan

Brittaney Costigan is in her third season as an assistant coach with the Albright College women's lacrosse program.

The Lions went 8-9 in 2014 with a more difficult schedule than in previous seasons. Albright defeated Division II Colorado Mesa on the road and beat rival Alvernia 13-10, missing a Commonwealth Conference playoff spot by just one goal on tiebreakers.

The Lions totaled four All-Conference selections, while sophomore Amanda Smith added Academic All-MAC honors to her first team All-Commonwealth status. Rookie Giuliana Rizzotti was named Albright's Freshman Athlete of the Year and captain Meghan Wilson was presented with the MAC Giant Steps Award for her leadership and success following personal adversity.

A 2013 graduate of Wilkes University, Costigan majored in elementary education and was a two-year captain with the Colonels.

Costigan was a four-year starter, playing in 58 career games and starting 54 of them. She moved to goalie as a senior in 2013 and helped Wilkes to a program-record 10 wins.

Costigan was 10-3 that season, with 85 saves and a GAA of 10.03. She also helped the Colonels to their first-ever conference playoff appearance, as the third seed in the Freedom Conference.

For her career, Costigan totaled four goals, 60 ground balls, 34 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.

Last year Costigan was an assistant coach at Crestwood High School, in their inaugural varsity lacrosse season.
