he Albright College Women’s Soccer program is proud to announce the addition of Kelly Griffin ’25 to its coaching staff. A recent graduate and standout member of the program, Griffin brings her on-field experience, leadership, and passion for the game to the sidelines as she begins her coaching career.
Griffin was named the program’s
Most Outstanding Player in her senior season (2024), capping off a decorated four-year career at Albright. She appeared in and started 17 games as a senior while also earning recognition on the
MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll, showcasing her commitment both on the field and in the classroom.
During her career , Griffin was a consistent presence in the lineup:
- 2023 (Junior): Started all eight games played, logging a season-high 90 minutes against Wilkes.
- 2022 (Sophomore): Appeared in 18 games with 14 starts, playing a season-high 78 minutes versus Rutgers-Camden.
- 2021 (First-Year): Made an immediate impact, appearing in all 20 games with six starts, scoring against Alvernia, and posting a season-high 73 minutes at FDU-Florham.
Before her collegiate career, Griffin starred at
Point Pleasant Beach High School (N.J.), where she was a standout player and leader.
Head Coach Shamus Matthews expressed his excitement about the hire:
“Kelly embodies what it means to be a Lioness. She was a relentless competitor as a player and an incredible teammate. To have someone who knows our program, our values, and our culture step into this coaching role is a tremendous asset. Our players will benefit greatly from her experience and her ability to connect with them.”
Griffin will work closely with the program’s coaching staff in player development, mentoring, and match preparation as Albright continues building toward the 2025 season and beyond.
