Scott Dietrich brings more than 25 years of experience as a Licensed Athletic Trainer to Albright College. He most recently served as Associate Athletic Trainer at Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, LTD providing sports medicine coverage to student athletes at Penn Manor High School. Prior to his time in Lancaster, PA he mentored hundreds of future athletic trainers as a professor at Barry University (Miami, FL); Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS); and East Stroudsburg University (East Stroudsburg, PA).
He previously served on Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society (PATS) Executive Board 2008-2016. He is a consultant for the ACES Preparatory Workshop and provides coverage for US Pro Rodeo circuit finals with Justin Boot Sports Medicine Team.
Dr. Dietrich continues to run the Tackle Analytics Lab which aims to better understand how we teach, assess and provide corrective feedback for proper tackle technique with the goal of reducing the risk of head and neck injuries in American football.
Secondary research interests include functional movement assessment for sports injury prevention, and professional socialization of entry-level athletic trainers.
Dietrich holds a doctorate, Ed.D. in Physical Education Teacher Education from West Virginia University. He earned a master's degree in Sports Administration at Temple University and served as a Graduate Assistant with Temple Orthopedics and held internships with the Philadelphia 76ers and Villanova University. Dr. Dietrich was a Varsity middle linebacker on 2x PSAC conference champions Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science.
Scott is the proud father of two sons Devin and Owen, and loves many outdoor activities like primitive camping, mountain biking, ruck workouts, whitewater rafting, scuba diving and snorkeling.
