READING, Pa. - It was a very tough afternoon for the Lady Lions (5-8/1-2 Commonwealth) as they hosted the number one team in the nation and in the Commonwealth Conference in Messiah College (10-0/2-0 Commonwealth) Tuesday afternoon in Shirk Stadium.
In only their second conference match of the season, the Falcons cruised past the red and white by the final score of 7-0 to keep their undefeated streak alive. Messiah who has held the top spot on the Kookaburra / NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll since the start of the season controlled Tuesday's contest from start to finish.
However solid defensive play by the Lions limited the Falcons chances through the 29 minutes of the match. Unfortunately through the final six minutes of the first half, Messiah tacked on four unanswered scores. After the halftime break, the added three more to take the 7-0 conference win.

Kaitlyn Johnstone# who tallied 13 saves in the match. On the other side of the field, Albright's offense was held to zero shots and penalty corners by a defense that has allowed just 10 goals on the year.
Field Hockey returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Widener University for a 1 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game. Fans that attend Saturday's contest are asked to wear pink in support of Widener's Annual Fight Against Breast Cancer Game.
