Swimming Competes at Swarthmore Invitational

Day One Results

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – In day one of the Swarthmore College Invitational the Albright Swim Teams posted solid finishes throughout the evening. Combined the Lions took first place in two relay events and two individual heats.

Picking up the evening's first top time was the 200 free relay team of Tim Pierce, Adam Kurtz, Chris Sheerer, and Jack Kubacki who a combined time of 1:28.48. For the women's team Allie Fies picked up a sixth place finish in the long 500 free event with a time of 5:32.98.

Junior Eric Kramer picked up his first of two top finishes in the 500 free with a time of 4:50.96. He later then recorded a first place time in the very quick free with a time of 21.70 seconds

Back to the women's side of Friday's meet, Aimee Snyder closed out the 200 IM with a second place time of 2:16.7.

Katy Oeste then led the Lady Lions in the 50 free with a fifth place finish with a time of 25.56. Also earning a top-5 finish in the 50 free on the men's side was Sheerer (3rd, 22.27) and Kubacki (4th, 22.45).

To close out the evening the men's 400 medley relay team earned a dominant 3:40.65 time to take first place for the red and white.

Swimming returns to action tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
