Field Hockey Falls to No. 3 Messiah

Box Score

GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Albright College Field Hockey team had a tall task ahead of them heading into Saturday's conference contest with #3 Messiah. The task would prove to be more than they could handle, as the nationally-ranked Falcons (11-2/4-0 CC) defeated the Lions (7-6/1-3 CC) by a score of 10-0.

It didn't take long for Messiah to get started on Saturday. Juliana Hershey scored 23 seconds in, giving her team an early lead off a pass by Kourtney Ehly.

Ehly would find the back of the cage just over a minute later to tally on a score of her own. A Julie Barton goal followed the Ehly goal, with another Hershey goal soon after. Brooke Sands assisted the second Hershey goal before adding two more of her own later in the contest.

Amber Good, Emily Hursh, Leanne Carroll and Dara Downs all would also score for the Falcons. Each one of them tallied an assist as well.

Rose Casesi had the only shot on goal for the red and white in the contest.

#Marguerite DeLucas# was handed the loss, despite totaling 17 saves in the game. Kayleigh Stewart earned the win for the Falcons, by playing the whole first half, while Molly Gebrosky took over for the final 35 minutes to finish off the game for Messiah.

Field Hockey returns to action this Wednesday when the Lions travel to Glenside, Pa. for a 4 PM start time against Arcadia University.
