GLENSIDE, Pa. – With the momentum from a two-goal first half the Knights of Arcadia University *8-6/2-3 Commonwealth) downed Albright field hockey (7-7/1-4 CC) by the final score of 3-1 Wednesday afternoon at Blankley Field in a Commonwealth Conference match.
Scoring Albright's lone goal of the day was senior #
Caitlin Feldman#, her eighth of the year. Assisting on the goal was #
Kaitlyn Pietrusewicz# in the first two minutes of the second half. With that goal, the Lions tried to mount a comeback, but were unable to connect on the equalizer.
For Arcadia, Adrianne Altera gave her team a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute on a give-and-go play with teammate Ashley McCarthy. The games second goal belonged to Marilen Beaty on an unassisted play. Following the halftime break, and the Albright goal, Altera would seal her team's victory with her second score of the day in the 50th minute.
Combined, Albright totaled four shots, as compared to Arcadia's 20. Freshman netminder #
Marguerite DeLucas# made five saves in 70 minutes of action. The Knights Sarah Baumgardner recorded just one save in the win.
Field Hockey returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host the University of Scranton in a make-up from September. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
