READING, Pa. - In a make-up game from late last month, field hockey (8-7) used a total team effort to pick-up their sixth shutout of the season as they defeated the Royals of the University of Scranton (5-10) by the final score of 4-0 Thursday afternoon in Shirk Stadium.

Freshman #Kayla Marshall# came off the bench to net her first and second collegiate goals, while #Kaitlyn Pietrusewicz# scored her first goal of the 2010 season. #Caitlin Feldman# also found the back of the cage for her ninth score of the year, and assisted on one goal as well.

Senior #Gia Boscola# assisted the first two Albright scores, while Beth Moran assisted on the Lions last. Freshman netminder #Marguerite DeLucas# earned the shutout with a three save effort. Senior defender #Briana Taylor# notched a defensive save late in the second half to help out her team's cause.

For the Royals their offense combined for eight shots in the match with Tara Winter putting her team-best three shots all on goal. The Lions tallied 10 shots in the match with six ending up between the pipes. Albright dominated the penalty corners with 11, while holding Scranton to just four.

Albright ended the scoreless draw at the 22nd minute mark when Boscola drove a shot into the box, which was then deflected by Marshall. Three minutes later Boscola picked-up her second assist on the same exact play, with Pietrusewicz redirecting the ball this time.

In the second half, Marshall found the back of the cage again in the 44th minute to make it a three-goal game. Feldman drove the final nail into the coffin in the 60th minute when she blasted a one-timer home to seal the 4-0 victory.

Field Hockey returns to action on Saturday when they host Elizabethtown College at 7 p.m. in a conference match. Prior to the start of that match Albright will take a moment to recognize their senior members.
