READING, Pa. - In their final home game of the 2010 season, the Lady Lions (8-8/1-5 CC) faced some tough competition in Elizabethtown College (12-3/5-1 CC). Despite being tied at 1-1 at the half, the red and white were not able to hang on as the Blue Jays walked away with a 5-1 Commonwealth Conference win Saturday afternoon in Shirk Stadium.

For the Lions, Saturday's match also meant the final time that their four senior members would compete in their home stadium. Prior to the contest Albright field hockey and it's fans honored seniors #Gia Boscola#, #Caitlin Feldman#, #Briana Taylor#, and #Pam Swope#.

In the first half, the Blue Jays controlled most of the action, but it was not until the 31st minute that they were able to get the ball past Albright's defense. Caitlin Grimes, who led the Blue Jays with a hat trick on Saturday, gave her team a 1-0 lead when she scored on a rebound.

However Elizabethtown's lead did not last long as Feldman and Boscola connected to even the score at 1-1 two minutes later. Knowing that this game was far from over, the Lions returned to the field for the second half. Unfortunately despite their best efforts, the Blue Jays flew away with the final 35 minutes of play, as they netted four goals to secure the win.

Goalie #Marguerite DeLucas# totaled nine saves in the match, while Elizabethtown's Lindy Hamp came up with one. The Blue Jays dominated the penalty corners totaling 13 as compared to Albright's three.

Field Hockey will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Alvernia University for a 4 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
