READING, Pa. – Led by three double-figure scorers the Osprey's of Stockton College (3-1) cruised past women's basketball (1-2) by the final score of 80-48 Tuesday evening in the Bollman Center. Julia Fagan led all scorers with 17 points, while Albright's
Meghan Boyle recorded her third straight double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Boyle's 15 boards marked the most rebounds earned by any Albright player this season. Her 11 points matched the red and white's team high which was also recorded by
MariLynn McMonagle. For McMonagle Tuesday's performance marked the second time in three games that McMonagle has finished in double-figures.
Also playing a major part in Stockton's win was Aspen Price-Perry who had 16 points and LaTonya Oliver who had 10. Lauren Alwan continued her strong performance on the glass pulling down a team-high 13 boards.
As a team, the Lady Lions struggled immensely in the first half, shooting only 15% from the field. For Stockton their large lead was the result of shooting 51% which gave them a 49-19 lead going into the halftime break.
Following the intermission, the Lady Lions showed some signs of life, but were unable to build any momentum. Turnovers also plagued Albright as they combined for 20 as compared to Stockton's 10. Albright eventually closed out the final half shooting 33% from the floor and 70% from the line.
Stockton ended Tuesday's match-up shooting over 44% from the floor (34-77), 23% from behind the arc (4-17), and 47% from the line (8-17). At the charity strip, Albright was solid going 14-for-18 on the night.
Women's Basketball returns to action this Saturday when they travel up the road to take on Penn State Berks at 1 p.m.
