READING, Pa. – With Amy Heffner's game-high 22 points the Greyhounds of Moravian College (4-5) cruised right past women's basketball (3-5) by the final score of 72-54 Saturday afternoon in the Bollman Center.

As a team, the Lions were held to just 15 points in the first half, while Moravian put up 35 to take a very comfortable lead into the locker room. In the second half, Albright showed a lot more life, but the 20 point deficit proved to be too large of a hole for the Lions claw their way out of. On the day, Albright shot just 26.7% from the field as compared to Moravian's 39.7% shooting.

For Albright, seniors MariLynn McMonagle and Jessica McGinness each scored a team-high 11 points. Freshman Meghan Boyle notched her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Adding to Moravian's win was Alexandra Blair who had 14 points, and Katie O'Rourke who pulled down 10 rebounds. Defensively the Greyhounds also recorded seven blocks, and held a slim advantage in total rebounds (50-47).

Moravian wasted no time taking control of Saturday's contest. Ranked as high as eighth last year in Division III women's basketball, the Greyhounds jumped out to a 12 point lead before the midway point of the first half.

After the intermission, the Lions came out with a lot more intensity then they displayed in the first half. Even though they trailed Moravian by more than 20, they refused to back down. With less than seven minutes to play, Albright cut Moravian's lead down to 14 following a Boyle lay-up. Unfortunately, that late surge did not faze the Greyhounds as they quickly regained their 20+ point lead and never looked back from there.

Women's Basketball returns to action on Tuesday, December 21 when they travel to Ursinus College for a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
