Women's Basketball Falls to #25/23 Lebanon Valley

Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Looking to upset one of their biggest conference rivals the Lady Lions (8-14/4-8 CC) traveled to Lebanon Valley College to face the nationally ranked and first place Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley (21-2/11-1 CC). Despite playing a game less than 24 hours ago the Dutchmen managed to hold-off a hungry Albright team earning a 70-51 decision Saturday afternoon at LVC Gymnasium.

The Dutchmen who have all but secured the top spot in the conference standings trailed Albright at only one point in Saturday's conference showdown. Both teams got off to a very rough start as neither team could find any rhythm through the first 20 minutes of play.

Junior Jessica McGinness proved to be Albright's top offensive threat scoring a team best 16 points. MariLynn McMonagle came off the bench and finished second on the team in scoring with 12 points.  On the glass Mallory Olsheski led the afternoon with nine rebounds followed by Becca Pollack's eight boards.  Overall the Lions were 19-for-58 from the field, 3-for-19 from three-point range, and 10-for-16 at the line.

LVC was led by Andrea Hoover's 21 points and Eryn Schultz's 18 points. Hoover also led her squad with a team best seven rebounds. Defensively Suzie Noyes tallied a game high four blocks, while also contributing nine points and five rebounds. The Dutchmen closed out Saturday's contest shooting 34.9% from the floor, 50% from behind the arc, and 79.6% at the charity strip.

Women's Basketball will return to action on Tuesday when they host Alvernia University at 6 p.m. in the Bollman Center.
