WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - In their debut match of the 2010 season, the Lions (0-1) dropped a 9-0 non-conference decision to the Monarchs of King's College (1-4) Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park Tennis Courts.

To start off the afternoon, the doubles pair of #Kenneth Ip# and #Joe Monzo# put up a valiant effort against King's Marco Stallone and David Chen. The two teams battled back and forth, but it was Stallone and Chen who earned a 8-6 win.

At second doubles #Jason Lefkoe# and #Mike Callahan# were handed their first doubles loss of the season after falling to Jonathan Ferrie and Paul Herr 8-2.

Moving into singles competition, Ip put together another solid performance before falling 6-4, 6-2. From there, the King's netters made quick work of the red and white to secure their first win of the season.

Men's Tennis returns to action next Tuesday when they host Ursinus College at 3:30 p.m. on the Albright Tennis Courts.
